Con Gelo

For those of you who don't habla Portugese "con gelo" (sp?) just so happens to mean "with ice" and I just so happen to know that because I got to spend 7 days in Brazil last week with my hubby- oh yeah and they don't automatically put ice in their drinks so you have to ask for it everytime- which my spoiled American husband and I did!! :) It was such a fun trip. We went because some friends of ours from ACU, Sascha and Jennifer (Pape) Terry, are missionaries in Porto Allegre, Brazil and they invited us to a missionary conference to hang out with the teens.

It was really neat to get a sneak peek into a missionary's life. With my CofC upbringing I've sat through many a presentations from missionaries backon furlough raising funds and giving updates- but it was really cool to actually get a firsthand glimpse of life on the mission field. Plus it was a treat to have a whole week with my husband- kid free. But good grief I missed my boys so much. And it didn't help that Sascha and Jennifer have an adorable little girl, Elisa, who is about the same age as Titus- it just made me miss them more!!

Some of the fun highlights included- getting see Dr. and Mrs. Willis- a favorite professor of ours from ACU, eating the Brazilian food, eating the all you can eat Brazilian fondue, and eating the to die for Brazilian meats!!! Are you picking up on a theme????
The missionary conference was held in Gramada which we heard is the "Aspen" of Brazil. It really was beautiful- there were hydranga bushes like this one growing everywhere.
Here's a waterfall that we visited. Cory climbed down 49 flights of stairs to the bottom of the waterfall to take this pic- pretty good huh. Being 6 months pregnant, I opted to skip on the stairs.

Yeah- I know seriously only "6 months pregnant yeah right." I can't fathom how big I'm going to be at 9 months. Here's hoping there is a good reason for all my weight gain and Seth comes out at 19 pounds!!!

The much preferred- less bloated- close up pic!! :)

what a trip!! you are completely adorable at 6 months prego. I love the first pic of you and big core. Time away from the kids is always so refreshing, too. It is so nice to get back home and snuggle with them after time away. I love that feeling of anticipation as I am going to pick my boys back up from jacksboro.

And just a random aside... we have your christmas pic on our fridge and clint said yesterday that everytime he goes to open the fridge he cant help but smile back at you because you look so ridiculously happy!! We were talking about how we can just hear your giggle! Miss you, friend!!
