We've only just begun....

So are there any other closet Karen Carpenter fans out there that can finish the tune of that title. (Random, but for some reason when I was younger I really loved Karen Carpenterand always tried to make my voice sound just like her when I would sing along.)

ANYWAYS!!! What I mean is our kiddos here are finallly out of school and the craziness of summer has only just begun. (Virginia schools don't start until after Labor Day so they don't break for summer until the middle of June.) Summer is definitely the "busy season" of youth ministry- but I totally love it. (Remind me I said that in about 3 weeks!) :) Really I do love it- especially the mission trips- which is why I'm completely jealous of Cory getting to go to Africa. Three of our teens got selected by an organization called World Vision to go to Malawi for 10 days after participating in a fundraiser we did for starving kids through an event called 30 hour famine. We are so proud of them because only 13 kids got picked in the whole NATION to go-like the whole United States of America. Do you know how huge that is?!? :) Anyways the rule is if your kiddos get picked then the youth leader goes with them so Cory gets to tag along. I'm not sure that he has been more excited about anything in his whole life- except of course marrying me and having our two little men- but I figured that was obvious!

Before things really start to pick up- ie before tomorrow- I thought I'd post one more time and try putting some more pictures up...for some reasons the ones on my last post only showed for a few days. Oh well- here goes nothing

This pic was from last weekend at our 6th annual Girl's Night Out. It's where the girls come to my house and we dress up in formals and I do their hair (from years of experience with GATA formals and best friends weddings!!) and we go do something fun. This year we went to a Japanese steakhouse. Yummy!

Here's Levi on his new Spiderman bike (with training wheels) in front of our cute little house. I told him he only needed to wear the helmet but he opted for the kneepads and elbow pads too. He used all the money in his piggy bank plus a little cushion from Mom and Dad to buy this.

Here's Titus trying to be big like his brother. I keep saying that all of a sudden I feel like I have two kids now. I know Titus has been around for a year but for most of it he was in blob phase where as long as his basic needs are met he's good. But now that blob baby is no where in site. I have a bonified toddler including fit throwing and frustrated communication attempts immediately followed up by the biggest cutest smile you ever did see.

> Don't judge me! I almost didn't post this pic because its proof of the disgusting condition our bathtub is in... but I went ahead with it because I figured it was real. And when you think about it so much of blog land is not real because we get to proofread and edit what is exposed and show only what we want to show for all the world wide web to read. But I will break that chain and admit that behind many of the cute smiling faces in the pictures I post there may be an occasional pile of laundry (or seven) a few dishes piled up in the sink (or every dish we own) and I may or may not suck my baby gut in when posing! :)

And while I'm confessing there is one more thing I have to honestly say.... I am madly in love with my husband who just so happened to turn 28 years old today. Cory, long long ago when we were just dating I knew right away that you were a great guy... You were so outgoing, so funny, so good with the Treadaway kids, so gentle, so selfless, so humble, such a man of God, so wise, so honest, and of course so ridiculoulsy good looking in your yellow Michigan hat! I really couldn't wait for the day to be your wife because I knew a life with you would be pretty special- but I gotta say, Babe, I had no idea it would be this good. I love you. "Tatch it." Happy Birthday.

Oh, I am sooo judging you! :) Blogging is such a strange thing. On one hand you don't always want to post your whole life story but you also don't always want to pretend that life is a stream of continual peachy-ness. (By "you" I mean "I.") So in the end there is a strange mixture of both for anyone in the world to see.

But I'm still a blog fan - even if they don't reflect all of reality, they do give a little glimpse into the lives of people I miss. Like these cute little boys, for example. I'm glad you're having fun with them, and I pray God's blessings on your busy summer.

And happy birthday to Cory!! I recently told Ryan about one of my first Cory memories - when he was Royce Money at one of our freshman devos. Funny guy. I'm glad God brought you together.

That tub reminds me of my days as Cory's roommate! Good times.

Happy B-day Cory!

to live... White lace and promises, a kiss for luck and were on our way.
Alright I just had to complete the song since no one else has. And I too LOVED the Carpenters as a kid.
I followed a few links and found your blog. It is great to see that you guys are doing well and enjoying life. I hope you guys have an incredible and blessed summer, even though I'm sure you'll be super busy. :)
