Cheers to you 2008
MMMmmm not sure I can cover November AND December in one post seeing as it was kinda pushing in to fit just October into my latest entry. Guess I'll do a top ten favorite things version- this will have to be a substitute for the "list of eights" I got tagged for. :)
TOP TEN MEMORIES THAT ROUNDED OUT 2008:
1. We went to Sea World with Cory's side for Christmas and I cried during the Shamu show. All his tricks were timed perfectly to a solist magically singing "The First Noel"- and when she hit the big note and Shamu raised out of the water with the trainer balanced atop her nose... it was over for me. I always wanted to be a Shamu trainer. Oh what might have been. :)
2. My grandmother lives in Heaven now- my Dad's mom that I just recently made a road trip to see. Totally worth it. Now one of my treasured pictures is the one of she holding Seth for the first and last time.
3. While on the road to her funeral Cory and I started a new road trip tradition. I read books aloud while he drives and the boys nap/watch movies. We finished 90 Minutes in Heaven which was a perfect read before going to a funeral. That got us on a reading frenzy and now our latest books are Crazy Love and Jesus wants to save Christians, both which have us seriously thinking about christianity and wealth and the American dream we unconciously pursue simply because we are born Americns and are programmed to. No conclusions yet, we're still wrestling but I highly recommend these books.
4. Levi had his first date. What can I say kids grow up fast these days! Actually all three of my boys had their first date. Cory's Grammer turned 75 and for her birthday she went on a date to Olive Garden with 4 handsomely clad boys. They even had roses.
5. I had several of my own date nights with a certain good looking Jones boy thanks to Hurricane Ike ruining my sisters house and forcing her to temporarily live with us which provides her with multiple opportunities to be blessed by babysitting my boys. Cory's favorite date was watching A Christmas Carol only because Roger Clemmons was in the audience. And if sitting in the same audience as a former Yankee were not enough he also said the words "Nice to meet you Cory." I'm not sure he's washed that handshake off yet.
6. However my favorite date night was watching a late night showing of Australia. We were the only ones at the dine in theatre crazy enough to begin a nearly 3 hour movie at 10:30pm. And let me say I LOVED the movie and the burger bites (in no particular order).
7. We are a one dog family now. It's a good thing...no a great thing. Duke (also known as Sir pees-a-lot-in-the-house) who we got from a boxer rescue place when we moved here a year ago has now been re-rescued and will be matched with some other sucker family.
8. My littlest man is getting cuter by the minute if that's possible. I love the pic below of him caught in the act of climbing over the bottom rungs of a chair. Not convinved of his cuteness? Maybe you should look closer at him styling in his hat on his first date.
9. Titus loved Christmas even though he kept saying all the presents were for his birthday. I know he must have been good because he got a ton. (Hello grandparents!) I also know he was good because he kept reminding me that "I'm being nice" multiple times tonight while I was in the middle of disciplining Levi for disobeying.
10. And lastly, Levi totally got into Christmas this year. He could not believe that the reindeer actually ate some of the popcorn we left for them in a bowl on the front porch. We have his expression on video- love it! Side note: the adorable "reindeer food" made at Pre-school was MIA. Who knew reindeer liked popcorn just as much as glitter coated cereal. Good to know.

Yea for the update! I loved the pictures, too. I can't wait to meet your boys. Hopefully we can see you guys when we make it to Texas in a couple of months!
Your boys are SO CUTE!!! Can't believe you ended up with two redheads...is anyone else in either family a redhead? I've only met blondes and brunnettes.
Aww! I bet you had a happy Grammer on your hands.
Christina: Hey this is Whitney Searight Cox...I was wondering my mom is retiring and my dad and I are trying to come up with something for her retirement party. I was wondering if you could maybe write her a letter or anything creative. We are trying to surprise her with some of her favorite students giving her letters? Let me know if you can.
